STARGAZING
Farmer and his sheep
on a cold winter’s night,
stood and looked up at the sky,
where the stars shone bright.
Light from the yellow moon
washed their upturned faces,
as they gazed with awe and wonder
at the miracle of nature.
The vastness of the inky sky
made them feel so small,
and yet they felt connected
to the universe beyond.
They had a warm house,
and the shelter that they needed,
but the draw of night skies,
was stronger than its heat was.
