FENCING

They lean over the fence of a morning,

to shoot the breeze and test the wind,

to discuss the weather, and world affairs.

A simple thing is a fence,

except when it’s not a division

but more a wise invention.

Then, it’s a not a boundary,

but a neighbour dispute commission,

a loneliness eradication,

a facilitator of friendships

for men who would never otherwise talk,

but live in isolation instead.
