SILVER LININGS
I’m waiting for the silver lining.
I search the skies, every day,
but all I see is rain.
Every person that I meet,
says every cloud has a silver lining,
all I need is faith.
Or patience.
Or time.
Or whatever it is they feel I need,
to help me see the silver lining
in the cloud above my head.
I listened to them patiently
as they try to make me see
that my situation’s not the problem,
it’s just my doubt that is.
Eventually, no silver lining
miraculously appeared,
so I decided I’d be better off
to buy new wellingtons
instead.
