STEER

Farmer couldn't afford a horse,

and back then cows were cheap,

so he trained a cow to carry him

and she was sweet, and mild and meek.

He held on tight around her neck,

and whispered in her ear,

there is no tack for riding cows,

so he said go left, go right, my dear.

All around the farm they'd go,

the cow would walk while Farmer steered,

they made a marvellous team,

though the neighbours thought it awfully weird.
