THE BLACK SHEEP

Farmer had a black sheep,

he didn’t love it less

than the other, whiter sheep

he kept, and loved, as pets.

Farmer held his black sheep,

and kept him safe from harm,

secure in the warm space,

of Farmer’s big strong arms.

Sickly was the black sheep,

less able than the rest,

more likely to get lost,

if he put it to the test.

This Farmer knew,

so he gave a bit extra,

to his wee black sheep

that needed more attention.
