THE DAY TRIP

It was the middle of the summer,

and all the hay was in,

so Farmer thought he’d have

a day trip to the sea.

He brought the dog,

and his pet lamb,

and they had ice-creams

on the sand.

They walked along the Pier,

and even had a paddle,

and when they all grew tired,

they went home on the tractor.

'That's that' said Farmer

for the year, no more frivolity,

'I'll finish off my stick of rock,

and then it's back to work' said he.
