THE SAVIOUR
Farmer lifted Chicken Licken
from the hungry foxes fangs,
held her tight and safe
as the foxes drooled and growled.
‘There, little bird’ he crooned,
‘my precious little hen,
safe from harm and nasty beasts,
within my steadfast arms’.
Chicken Licken’s little heart
began to settle slow,
as she nestled into Farmer’s arms,
and began to cluck and crow.
Safe on her lofty perch
she cackled at the foxes waiting,
your empty bellies won’t be filled
with Farmer here to save me.
