TROGLODYTES

Under the hot sun of a far-off land,

people live in caves and holes,

hidden in the cool dark rock,

they built a hearth, a room, a home.

Safe from the needle hot fingers

of a desert sun,

they live their life

in the cooler ground.

Below the arid surface,

is another layer of shelter,

giving safety and comfort

to the cave-dwellers under

a roof made from sand,

and stunted trees, and desolation,

the spinning sun and harsh heat,

never penetrating.
