VIEW

I could have bought a house

that wasn’t on a cliff,

but I wouldn’t have a view.

I could have played safe,

and lived somewhere

that isn’t on the edge.

But that wouldn’t have

a view of the valley

and miles of snow,

a view of the mountains,

and the natural beauty

that I need to see.

I could have lived

amoung streets in towns,

with buildings all around,

but they would have blocked

the view that I have,

from my house in the wild.

Keep your safe little boxes,

and leave me here happy,

with the edge, and the view.
