Young love gives their hearts

with no need for change,

with no lack of trust

and no thought of gain.

Young love falls harder,

than old fools may,

no barrier of once bitten

to guard against the pain.

Young love, oblivious,

ignores the world around,

disregards the possible

that love will ever end.

Young love, fragile,

hasn’t learned to bend,

and young hearts, broken,

may never fully mend.
