THE ROUND TOWER

There sits a round tower

on the top of a cliff,

it's been there

for hundreds of years.

Below are steep drops

and beneath them a river,

keeping marauders away.

The ground round the tower

is full of pitfalls,

and holes for the unwary

who came to plunder and rob.

On top of the cliff the tower

stands proudly,

surviving invasion and war.

Our heritage guarded

by the forces of nature,

and the foresight of those

who knew to build in that spot.
